Where should I start? I can't find words to explain how brilliant this movie is. I now understand all the hype surrounding it plus the little cult that has been following this since the early cartoon days, my tito included.
There was a great balance between the funny scenes and serious ones. In all seriousness, they really did a good job from transitioning between the two elements. I can't stop laughing at how cute the funny scenes were, especially the one where the autobots were at Sam's house and they were hiding from the parents, hilarious! The parents are annoying, can I take them out? And the VW Beetle thing, I think my tito was one of the fews who got the humour out of the scene. Fans know that bumblebee is supposed to be a Beetle. But there were sponsoring problems so they poked fun at the supposed-to-be car.
SHIA LaBEOUF did such an awesome job. I just knew he would nail this role. There's this something about him even during his Even Stevens days, he makes things funny and he makes it work. He was quite annoying in Even Stevens, his screams and face was so annoying but he was funny. And now, damnit he has a refined humour and he got all hot.
THE AUTOBOTS, I have nothing else to say but BRILLIANT! The design was so detailed and the movement and transformation was done amazingly. My tito was super cooled out with it, he loved the transformations so much. Oh, btw, ILU BUMBLEBEE! The cars were amazing
MEGAN FOX was the thing I secretly didn't like. I dunno. But I loved how kick-ass she was.
THE BATTLE. My jaw was hanging all throughout the scene. DAMNIT so AWESOME! It's not one of those typical throw and blow-up scenes in the streets of New York. I'm glad Mikaela didn't kiss Sam when he was holding the cube. If she did, everything would be just cheesy. If you were there, I'm sure you'll be amazed how the people reacted. The guy crammed beside me ruined it by screaming at my ears. I was about to badmouth him but all that came out of my mouth was GOD!
FINALE, we all know Megatron will come back. C'mon, we've seen scenes like that in Sci-Fi movies, and what usually happens? They come back to life. With just that scene, we all know he will come back. Plus Optimus Prime's little speech at the end, it gives away a cliffhanger.
I kept muttering awesome when I got out of the theatre. I had this weird smile plastered on my face, a sign that the movie just made my whole week. I want to watch it again, but my schedule will be full by next week. Bummer.
